GTA 6 Price, Editions, and Value: Everything Confirmed and Expected

GTA 6 will cost approximately $70 / €80 for the standard edition on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S — no official pricing has been announced yet by Rockstar. The Premium Edition (~$100) will likely include in-game currency for GTA 6 Online and exclusive cosmetics. The Collector's Edition (~$150–200) will be physical and include an art book, a printed map, and a collectible figure.

GTA 6 will be the most commercially significant game launch in history. Tens of millions of players will buy it. The question every player is asking: how much, and which version is worth it?

The Standard Edition: $70

The current-generation game pricing standard is $70 (USD) for standard digital editions on PS5 and Xbox Series X. GTA 6 will almost certainly launch at this price point.

This is already a significant increase from the $60 standard of the PS3/Xbox 360 era when GTA V launched. However, $70 has become the baseline for major PS5/Xbox releases, and there is no indication Rockstar will buck this trend.

What the Standard Edition gets you: - Full single-player campaign (Lucia and Jason's story) - GTA 6 Online access on day one - No additional payment required to complete the story

The Standard Edition is what the vast majority of players should buy. The core game experience — which will run 30–60 hours for the story and essentially unlimited hours with Online — is fully intact.

The Premium Edition: Expected ~$100

Based on GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2, and industry standard Premium tier pricing, a $100 Premium Edition is expected. This will likely include:

Is the Premium Edition worth it?

Only if you plan to play GTA 6 Online extensively. The bonus currency shortens early Online grind. For primarily single-player players, the Standard Edition is the better value.

The Collector's Edition: Expected ~$150–$250

Is the Collector's Edition worth it?

As a collectible item for dedicated GTA fans, the Collector's Edition has long-term display value. As a game purchase, you're paying a large premium for physical items. Consider your priorities — if you display game collectibles, this has genuine value. If you just want to play the game, it's not worth the premium.

Digital vs Physical Pricing

Both digital and physical standard editions are typically the same price at launch. Advantages and disadvantages:

Subscription Services: Will GTA 6 Be on Game Pass or PS Plus?

Almost certainly not at launch.

Rockstar's parent company Take-Two Interactive has historically kept major releases off subscription services at launch. GTA V took years to appear on PS Plus. The day-one revenue from a game of GTA 6's scale is too large to sacrifice for a subscription fee.

Don't expect GTA 6 on PS Plus Extra, PS Plus Premium, or Xbox Game Pass at launch. It may arrive on these services 12–24 months post-launch.
